Kitibi village is in Egbedore Local Government (locate on map ????), about 35 kilometers away from Osogbo, the capital of Osun State in South Western Nigeria. Our first contact with Kitibi village was in 2019 when Egbedore Local Government fell among our coverage area in the home-to-home gospel presentation as led by our MTC Coordinator for Osun State, in the person of Sister Kehinde Akano. Her work in Kitibi went just beyond home-to-home gospel presentation but also included active work of engaging the people in discipleship which led to the setting up of discipleship groups.
After we concluded the work of home-to-home gospel presentation in Egbedore Local Government by the end of 2019, the impact of our work in Kitibi Village continued as the souls that were won for Jesus Christ who were engaged in the discipleship programme continued to keep the bond of love and maintained the unity in Christ as they requested for assistance to support the Christ group that was set up by the souls that were won to Christ who had completed the BFAM discipleship class. We later visited the village and saw fertile land for a mission field with the opportunity to extend our impact to the surrounding villages.
To support the Christ group set up in Kitibi whose place of fellowship used to be under a tree in the open space, we partnered with The Margins & Prayer Ministry of Every Home for Christ to put up a structure for them so that fellowship time will not be disrupted by rain or sunshine. We also sank a borehole facility to serve Kitibi village and surrounding villages as they had to travel nothing less than 3 kilometers to fetch water from a government-provided borehole facility or alternatively, get water from the dirty river in the village.
Toward the official commissioning of the borehole and official opening of the facility built for fellowship which was attended by the Chiefs sent as representatives from the king under whose domain is Kitibi village, we organised a 2-day empowerment programme for Kitibi village and also invited the surrounding villages after which some of the participants who showed prospects during the training were empowered to put to practice what they have learned and we received reports that some of them are already practicing with the skills they acquired and making some income to support themselves and their families.
The 2023 Christmas Advance project sponsored by The Margins & Prayer Ministry was also taken to Kitibi Village to further consolidate the impact of our work there.
Kitibi is now a mission field for us where we continue to monitor the impact of the gospel and our projects on the community and surrounding villages as we continue the kingdom work in the community.
