Kitibi Village Christmas Project 2024

Thursday 12th – Saturday 14th December 2024

Our return visit to Kitibi village to celebrate Christmas with the community proved to be a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of the children from the village and surrounding villages. As the new school term was approaching, we recognized the perfect chance to support their educational journey.

With the aim of equipping the children with the necessary tools to succeed in their academic pursuits, we provided a range of educational materials. These essential learning tools included:

  • Notebooks for note-taking and homework
  • Pens, pencils, and erasers for writing and drawing
  • Mathematical sets to foster problem-solving skills
  • Crayons to encourage creativity and self-expression
  • Rulers develop spatial awareness and mathematical concepts

In addition to these educational materials, we also included food items to support the children’s nutritional needs, recognizing that a healthy and well-nourished body is essential for effective learning.

Through this initiative, we aimed to demonstrate our commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of the children in Kitibi village and beyond.

Ogundijo Village Christmas Project 2024

Thursday 12th December 2024

Ogundijo is a small village located in Oyo State, under the jurisdiction of Ona Ara Local Government. This small, rural enclave is remarkable for its extraordinary homogeneity, where every resident shares a common ancestry and heritage. The village’s unique demographic profile is characterized by a tight-knit community where everyone is related, fostering an exceptionally strong sense of kinship, togetherness, and shared identity. This rare distinction sets Ogundijo apart from surrounding villages, where indigenes and immigrants coexist in a diverse and dynamic cultural landscape.

Despite its small size, Ogundijo holds a position of prominence among the over 12 neighbouring villages that surround it. This is largely due to the presence of a school founded by pioneer missionaries, which has drawn students from the surrounding villages. The school has served as a beacon of education, enlightenment, and community development.

As our team embarked on the Christmas project in Ogundijo village, we conducted a thorough needs assessment to identify the most pressing areas of need. After careful consideration, it became evident that the most impactful investment we could make was in the educational development of the community. Recognizing that education is the cornerstone of empowerment and a brighter future, we decided to focus our efforts on supporting the educational needs of the children.

In preparation for the new school term, we provided a comprehensive range of educational materials, carefully packaged to meet the specific needs of the students. These resources included notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, rulers and other essential learning tools. Our goal was to ensure that every child, not only from Ogundijo village but also from the surrounding villages, had access to the materials they needed to succeed in their academic pursuits.

By investing in the educational needs of the community, we aimed to create a ripple effect of positive change, empowering the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and change-makers. As the schools resumed for the new term, we were confident that our contribution would make a tangible difference in the lives of the children, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to reach their full potential.

We also included food items in the package for the children.
